Sunday Night Reflections

Posted: September 6, 2010 in Bible Study, Church, Leadership

Just a few late night thoughts about our service today at Connecting Point church in Freeport, IL.

  • Today was our first day of the series, Multiplicity, and virtually no one in the room has ever seen this classic 90′s film.
  • The next time we do a series loosely based on a movie, maybe we should make watching the film sort of like a reading assignment in a literature class.  We can make everyone watch the movie before the first week of the series :)
  • Father-in-laws can have great advice just check out Exodus 18:13-22.
  • I thank God every day for my in-laws.  I know some people feel like they have outlaws for in-laws, but mine are just great people and I’m glad to call them family.
  • Discipleship is NOT a class.  We’ve try to make discipleship just about taking a class to get more information, but it is not merely a class.
  • A disciple is someone who follows Jesus.  John 15:7-8
  • There are some incredibly nice people who work at the Dairy Queen in Freeport.
