Here are just a few thoughts after today. Whether your a morning person or not, church is worth getting up for. There is just not a better way to spend your Sunday morning, then to spend it with God.
I was glad when they said to me,
“Let us go into the house of the LORD.”
Psalm 122:1
I hope you spent this morning at church somewhere, if not then I got to tell you that you are missing out. I’d encourage you to find a church where you can get plugged in and be a part of the body of Christ. We need to have that connection to other people who believe just as we do.
This morning at connecting point we talked about the Good Shepherd. Jesus is our Good Shepherd. John 10:11 tells us that the Good Shepherd gave His life for us. I want to take a moment in this post to dive a little deeper into John 10. In fact let’s backup to verse 4 and break it down here.
And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice
John 10:4
3 Things We Need to Know About the Good Shepherd.
1) Jesus Brings Us Out.
He will bring you out of your sin. The old is gone and the new has come. Jesus saves us from our imperfection and leads us in the way we are supposed to go.
2) Jesus Goes Before Us.
He is leading the way. Just like Jesus said to Jairus, we need to not be afraid. We don’t need to be afraid of what the future holds, because Jesus is there leading the way for us.
3) Jesus is Speaking, and We Need to Hear and Know His Voice.
Do you want to know the secret for hearing God’s voice? Here it is…get ready for this….The secret to hearing the voice of God is to listen. The best place to start if you want to hear God’s voice is to read His word. Read your bible because it is the voice of God. God’s word is God’s voice.
So this week, I encourage you to dive into the word. Spend some time reading your bible and listening to what Jesus has to say. And then this Sunday why don’t you join us at Connecting Point Church for our service on Sunday morning.
