Here is a challenge for you today. I challenge you to define awesome without looking up it’s definition in the dictionary or on dictionary.com. I know immediately some of you are probably thinking “that’s easy I can do it in one word…Don.” But seriously, think about it for a moment. Can you define awesome?
If you are like me, then you use the word often. We use it to describe all sorts of things in our lives. If someone tells you something good that happened to them today we respond with, “that’s awesome”. If we eat some steak, we say, “this tastes awesome!” But, what does the word really mean.
I believe that God is awesome. I believe that He is awesome in power. I believe that He is awesome in mercy. I believe that He is awesome in love. And yet I can say it’s honestly hard to define Him. It’s difficult to define God, because there just don’t seem to be the words. No word seems quite “awesome” enough.
