Sometimes it really feels like people are speaking another language. In fact at times life can be so confusing that it seems like people are from another planet. Life can be confusing. There is so much in life that can be difficult to understand like the death of a loved one or friendships that ends suddenly. Even decisions about your future can be confusing and difficult to manage.
Confusion breeds fear and uncertainty. But, that is not the way that God has planned it to be for us. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us that God wants to have a sound mind, not one that is torn and tormented by confusion. It’s easy for us to get in a tough situation and start questioning everything. Why has this happened? Why me? Why now?
Sometimes all of this fear and uncertainity comes in with confusion because of our perspective. Last night at nxt.lvl I talked about how my dog got shot in the leg when I was kid. And now that I’m an adult I just wish someone would shoot my dog. Totally different perspective. (Of course I’m only kidding…don’t call the ASPCA on me.)
But what can seem like the end of the world when we are right in the middle of it, can later seem completely different when our perspective is better. I think it was Winston Churchill who said when you’re passing through hell don’t stop. Sometimes when we are right in the middle of a really crappy situation we have a tendency to stop for a while and set up camp. We just sort of setup camp there and never really make the effort to push through it. If we would just make it out of the situation a lot of times we will have a really different perspective on the other side.
Yet at times things can be just so hard to explain and can be so difficult to deal with. And that is when we have to just trust God and really lean on Him. Take a look at what Jesus said here: Matthew 11:29-30.
Jesus also told us to cast all our cares on Him because He cares for us. If you feel like you are living in the land of confusion, just cast all of your fear and anxiety on Him and then just trust Him.
